Hemp insurance is a relatively new cover on global markets. Locally the
government of Zimbabwe issued legislation in the year 2020 for the purpose of regulating the production, procurement, distribution, possession, sale, provision and transportation of industrial hemp.
Cover is currently available in an ever-evolving form for:
a. Multi-Peril cover against loss of yield because of insurable causes of loss
for hemp grown for fiber, grain, or cannabidiol (CBD) oil.
b. Revenue protection insurance
c. Nursery crop insurance if grown in containers
